Underwater Electrical Safety

Pool lights are the most dangerous electrical component in your backyard because the electricity is submerged directly where you swim. When a pool light stops working or starts tripping the breaker, it must be diagnosed by a licensed professional who understands underwater niche wiring and Junction Box (J-Box) isolation.

Water Intrusion

The #1 cause of a tripping pool light is a failed rubber lens gasket. When water enters the metal housing and touches the halogen or LED bulb, it creates a massive short circuit. We extract the fixture, verify the leak, and safely pull a brand-new sealed fixture cord through the underground conduit.

Junction Box Diagnostics

Sometimes the problem isn't in the water at all. The Junction Box (the raised box near the deck where the light cord meets the house wiring) can suffer from corroded wire nuts or insect nests causing a short. We isolate the J-Box to test exactly where the fault is occurring.

120V to 12V Conversions

Many older pools use highly dangerous 120-volt pool lights. Modern safety standards heavily favor 12-volt low-voltage LED lights. If you need a replacement, we can install a step-down safety transformer at the equipment pad and upgrade your pool to safe, low-voltage LED lighting.
