Where is the Water Coming From?

A puddle under your heater should never be ignored. While heat pumps do produce natural condensation, a steady drip or puddle that smells like chlorine means pool water is escaping the system.

Chemical Damage

Consistently low pH (acidic water) or placing chlorine tabs directly in the skimmer will eat away at the internal heat exchanger. If the titanium or cupronickel fails, we replace the entire manifold.

Condensation vs. Leaks

Heat pumps pull moisture from the air, which drains out the bottom. If you aren't sure if it's a leak or condensation, we can test the water under the unit for chlorine/salt content to confirm.

PVC Unions & Pressure Switches

Sometimes the fix is simple. High pressure, age, or ground settling can loosen the PVC unions connecting the heater to your plumbing, or blow the O-ring on the internal water pressure switch. We carry replacement gaskets to fix these fast.
