Fixing the Sag

When a pool liner starts getting older, it shrinks and becomes stiff. The tension from the shrinking vinyl pulls heavily against the coping track at the top of the pool wall, eventually causing the liner bead to "pop" out and sag into the water. Trying to muscle it back into place with your hands or tools will almost always rip the brittle vinyl.

Heat Stretching

Vinyl becomes extremely pliable when introduced to heat. We use a combination of boiling water and specialized heat guns to carefully soften the old vinyl just enough to stretch it the remaining inch needed to reach the track without tearing.

Bead Receiver Cleaning

Sometimes the liner pops out because the aluminum track (receiver) is jammed with dirt, calcium, or corrosion. We thoroughly clean the track channel to ensure the liner bead can seat deeply and securely.

Liner Lock Installation

Once the liner is back in the track, the shrinking tension will likely try to pull it out again. To prevent this, we hammer a rubber wedge called "Liner Lock" or "T-Lock" directly into the track behind the bead, wedging it so tightly it cannot escape.
